A pretty much Doomed Country.

Welcome to another rant. This one’s about the country I belong to—from—the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal. That fancy name has a lot of history behind it. From ancient stories in Hindu scriptures to divided states, Greater Nepal, the Ranas’ iron-fisted rule, the Panchayat system, to the political shitshow we have today.

Nepal has gone through a lot. Political changes, social shifts, “revolutions.” But for what? All that just to end up with a bit of backward progress.

Let me be real—I don’t know much about the eras before me. Everything I’ve read is biased garbage. Monarchists glorify their kings, party loyalists glorify their corrupt leaders. Everyone has their narrative. And of course, nobody’s perfect. Everyone has their fair share of bullshit.

So I’m not here to decide who was good or bad. I’m here to talk about what I see, and how I feel.

What I See Now Is Hopeless

Right now—at the time I’m writing this—I don’t see any hope from the ones representing this country. These people at the top, the ones holding all the power? They’re a bunch of absolute crapholes. Some pretended to be different in the past, but it was all just a performance. A staged stunt. That’s all they’ve done since day one.

Prachanda had a solid chance in his early days to flip the country in a better direction. But nope. He joined hands with the same old scumbags he once fought against. Look at him now—the once-feared revolutionary is now a complete joke. And the rest of them? Even worse.

This Country Is Screwed

The country’s already doomed. No sugarcoating it.

  • Business owners have to die in front of the parliament for fair policies.
  • A brilliant doctor attempts suicide because he’s blocked from doing actual good work.
  • A murderer is released by the court—because he belongs to the ruling party.
  • One corrupt minister is shielded while another is jailed for some vague, indirect involvement.

If you don’t fit into their narrative, you’re done for. That’s politics here.

The Prime Minister? He cracks jokes during press meets. Won’t even acknowledge criticism. The guy’s a full-blown narcissist. His followers? Brain-dead cultists. A massive bunch of loud, useless, entitled idiots with nothing better to do than worship failure.

Student Unions Are Just Political Pets

Let’s not forget the student unions. Pure garbage. They exist solely for political favors. Their work towards improving education? Literally zero. Colleges and universities are rotting, but all these clowns do is clash with each other, shut down campuses, and scream slogans. They call that progress.

Protest Culture: We Hurt Ourselves

And protests in Nepal? Fucking ridiculous.

  • Teachers protest by not teaching.
  • Transport unions protest by shutting down transportation.
  • Student unions protest by closing schools and colleges.

Every union protests by doing the exact opposite of what they’re supposed to do. The public suffers while the government sits back, shrugging. Favouritism is rooted so deep in this country that no one dares fix anything—from education to transport, healthcare to finance.

The Monsoon Cycle of Death

It’s rainy season right now. And before it’s even properly started, we’re already getting news of floods, landslides, broken bridges, blocked roads.

This happens every single year. Nothing changes. And it’s not like we’ve never seen rain before—yet still, no planning, no preparation, no execution.

When monsoon hits hard, people die. Homes get destroyed. Roads vanish. And the government? They show up with temporary relief—plastic tents, a few kilos of rice, and photo ops. Then monsoon ends, people forget, and the government moves on.

Repeat next year.
Same story.
Same bullshit.

And this isn’t just about floods. It’s fire season next, then cold waves, then something else. Year after year, problem after problem—yet nobody acts until it’s too late. They have all year to prepare. But guess what? They’re too busy planning their next climb to the throne of power and free money.

The People Are Part of the Problem

Let’s be honest—this isn’t just about the leaders. We, the people, are complicit too.

This is a democracy. We elect these bastards. And somehow, we keep bringing the same exact people back into power. Not once, not twice—but four, five times. Some of them are literal criminals—rapists, murderers—and they still win.

Why the hell is someone a five-time Prime Minister when the country hasn’t progressed even an inch?

Meanwhile, poor, voiceless people rot in prison for crimes committed by their political gods.

Social Media ≠ Real Life

Lately, I’ve noticed some awareness rising—on social media at least. People are starting to call out the nonsense. They’re rejecting the same old parties, promoting independent candidates, fighting back in comment sections.

But will this online rage turn into actual votes?

Hard to say.
Because here, a kilo of meat and a bottle of booze can still buy a vote. The cults, the party unions, the gangs—they’ve mastered this system of buying loyalty.

Even If Change Comes…

Let’s say—just say—we get a miracle. Next election, all these useless sacks of garbage are thrown out. A political overhaul happens.

What then?

Will the country magically fix itself? Will change happen overnight?

Nope.

We’re buried under international loanscorruptionmismanagement, and unknown secret agreements made behind closed doors. Even with new faces in power, the damage done is deep. Possibly irreversible in our lifetime.

The Real Ones to Suffer

The current leaders will die in luxury. Their families are already secured for the next 10 generations. Meanwhile, we—the general public—will bear the brunt of this disaster. Our kids and grandkids? Even worse.

Sometimes I just wish there was a hard reset button. Just wipe the system. Clean slate. But this isn’t a game. This isn’t a movie.

This is real life.
This is Nepal.

Maybe we are cursed to suffer.
Maybe the saying really is true:

"Sati le sarapeko desh."

A cursed country.
And the curse?
Still going strong.
